World TB Day is observed with a view to increase awareness about Tuberculosis so that patients can be treated with DOTS (the free treatment given under the Revised National Tuberculosis Programme) This programme has been successful in making TB treatment easily accessible to all strata of people especially the poor.

CME on TB for doctors of M (E) Ward
Winners of the Quiz Competition held on Tuberculosis. Children from the slum schools in Bainganwadi participated and a majority of them got the general information about the disease right. The results prove that the IEC activities of LSS have been successful in spreading awareness about the disease.

On May 1st and 2nd, 2010, Lok Seva Sangam will be organising a Cricket Tournament for school going children of the slums of the L and M Wards of Mumbai. All are invited to witness this unique event at the Everard Nagar Lawns from 9.00 a.m. onwards, an event we hope to host every year to encourage children to go to school and use their time and energy efficaciously.

International Women’s Day was celebrated jointly by NGO’s in the M E) Ward of Mumbai. Lok Seva Sangam’ s self help groups played an active roll in the rally’s arrangements.
